Among the actions the council approved: the minutes of the Feb. 11, 2025, regular meeting; a proclamation recognizing Fitzgerald's Nightclub for listing in the National Register of Historic Places; permission for the annual baseball parade on Saturday, May 10, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m.; and acceptance of a communication from Police Chief Semaglia granting St. Mary of Sal's permission for its Way of the Cross procession on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Public works payments approved on roll call included pay estimate No. 1 for the Ogden Avenue water main replacement to Trine Construction in the amount of $740,965.96, and two pay estimates for the Depot District streetscape project to RW Dunneman Company: pay estimate No. 20 in the amount of $613,057.08 and pay estimate No. 21 in the amount of $965,458.13. The roll-call votes for those payment items were recorded as seven ayes.
The council also concurred with the clerk's office on handicapped parking petitions: it approved a handicapped parking space at 1645 Gunderson and a zone at 1316 South Clarence, and it approved the clerk's denial of requests for a space at 3736 Wesley, a space at 3838 South Maple and a zone at 1627 Oak Park Avenue. The Berwyn Park District's 2025 events list that require city services was approved as presented.
