Public‑works director Don Wilcox and designers from Wallace Group presented a concept of drought‑tolerant, low‑maintenance plantings for medians, parkways and bulbouts along the downtown corridor. The consultant showed vignettes that emphasized color, pollinator‑friendly plantings and drip irrigation; staff estimated implementation costs in the range of $300,000 and recommended using Measure X funds for planting, soil remediation and irrigation upgrades.
