The speaker described the plan as an early-stage idea: the judge is ‘‘tossing the idea of remodeling chambers here because he's getting more jury bridal, and it's kinda looking at remodeling to fit this, jury trials in in this chambers here.’’ The speaker said the judge will return as a guest to present the concept, similar to a prior guest appearance.
Council did not take action at the Feb. 26 meeting on courtroom changes. The mention was placed on the March 12 agenda as a guest appearance for initial discussion. No funding, timeline or specific remodeling scope was proposed or approved that night.
