Alisal Union announces spring intersession sites, flexible schedule and LCAP stakeholder meeting dates

Cubillo said the district will host a spring intersession that will offer multiple activities including robotics, physical education, theater, dance and tutoring. “The program runs from 8 to 5 every day, but it’s a very flexible schedule,” Cubillo said, adding that families may sign students up for just morning or afternoon sessions if they prefer.
The program manager said there will be transportation from students’ home sites to host sites and that applications for all expanded learning programs are available at school sites. “I did bring applications for all of our expanded learning programs,” she said, and staff at each site have contact information for questions.
Cubillo named three host sites for the spring intersession: Barton, Loya and BRB (listed in the presentation as VRB/BRB). She said host-site groupings will allow students from a set of feeder schools to attend the same host: for example, Montebella, Ellis Island and Fremont were listed as linked to one host; Sanchez, MLK and Chavez were listed together for another; and Steinbeck, Creekside and Great Hall were grouped for the third host. Cubillo emphasized that administrators will share program details with families via each school’s communication portals.
Cubillo also reminded attendees about the district’s LCAP stakeholder meetings and provided a schedule of upcoming meetings, asking parents to participate so parent voice is included. Dates listed in the presentation included February 26 and a series of March meetings (March 5, March 10, March 11, March 13 and March 18) at various school sites; the transcript included those dates and site names as the schedule for community LCAP meetings.
Cubillo closed by encouraging families to contact site clerks or her directly with questions and to look for application forms on the back of the handouts provided at the meeting.
