County and City of St. Joseph coordinate on Silver Beach concession stand, traffic and playground improvements

The county said the agreement limits use to the west lot only (excluding employee parking and sheriff operations), allows Monday–Friday use after 6 p.m. and weekend use, requires new signage for the May–September period that the City of St. Joseph’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) must be able to enforce, and that the city will pay for signage and any required changes. County legal counsel was tasked to draft enforceable language for the signage.
Committee members praised park staff for work on Silver Beach and noted recognition by the Southwest Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
