The Falls Church Planning Commission completed several administrative items at its Jan. 15 meeting. Commissioners elected Andrea Comont as chair and Tim Stevens as vice chair by roll call votes. Commissioners also adopted the proposed 2025 meeting schedule (first and third Wednesdays, with identified cancellations for religious holidays and a proposed August recess) and approved minutes from the Dec. 18 meeting.
Chair and vice‑chair elections: The commission accepted nominations and conducted roll call votes. Andrea Comont was nominated and elected chair; Tim Stevens was nominated and elected vice chair. Commissioners present at the Jan. 15 meeting (Danny Polinski, Michael Duncan, Timothy Krasner, Tim Stevens, Margaret Friedlander, Robert Kravinsky and Andrea Comont) all voted in the affirmative for both positions as recorded by roll call.
Schedule and minutes: Staff noted the commission is required by City Charter §17.03 to hold at least one regular meeting per month; the proposed 2025 schedule maintains the first and third Wednesday cadence with specific date adjustments to align with the council’s interfaith calendar and identified holiday observances. The commission moved and approved the schedule by roll call. The Dec. 18 minutes were approved without change.
