Village event staff reviewed the village's 2025 public-event calendar and key dates for downtown business planning, beginning with the Timber Park Irish Parade on Sunday, March 9, which staff said is the 25th annual parade with nearly 90 entries and six sponsors.
Staff described the farmers market's 28th season running June 7 through Oct. 11 and said the market will transition into Harmony Square during the grand-opening weekend on June 21. Applications were reported to be open and staff said roughly 50 vendors have applied so far, including three produce vendors, two flower vendors and a mix of specialty growers and food vendors; organizers said they are still seeking more produce vendors.
Music in the Plaza dates were listed as June 21 (the grand opening), June 28, July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27, with concerts running from 7 to 10 p.m. Staff said Music in the Plaza regularly drew thousands of attendees on peak nights (organizers recalled events with several thousand attendees in prior years).
The two-day block party will be held in July (Saturday and Sunday); staff said the final block-party layout has not been set and will likely center on the downtown area adjacent to the train station and Harmony Square. Cruise night series will run Tuesdays from June 3 through Aug. 26, with the exception of the National Night Out date.
Other near-term events noted in the meeting included the Arpin Garden Market on May 10 (not in Harmony Square because the plaza will not be ready), Photos with the Bunny on April 13, and a business breakfast on Wednesday, March 26 at the Tinley Park Convention Center where Mayor Michael Glass will give the state-of-the-village report and Hannah Loftus, vice president of research for World Business Chicago, will be the guest speaker.
Staff asked businesses to sign up for vendor and sponsorship opportunities via timleypark.org/eventspartners and to subscribe to the village's business e-newsletter (timleypark.org/stayinformed) for application and package announcements.
Ending: Organizers said finalized maps, layouts and vendor packages will be posted when available and encouraged business owners to contact staff through the event partner web page for partnership details.
