The Diversion Authority Land Management Committee approved two excess-land sales during its Feb. 26 meeting, including a sale of OIN 839 and a corrected-price approval for a second parcel where staff found a acreage calculation error.
Eric Dodds, a consultant with AE2S, reviewed three excess-land recommendation items for the committee. For OIN 839 — a former residential parcel in the upstream mitigation area — Dodds said the parcel was declared excess about a year earlier and offered per the authority’s excess-land policy. After preference offers to member entities, the former owner and adjacent landowners produced no interest; the parcel went to public sale. A recent offer of $7,000 arrived; staff had recommended an original sale price of $10,500 but recommended approving the $7,000 offer. The committee approved that sale by roll-call vote.
For a second parcel (previously calculated at 7.877 acres), staff discovered an inadvertent double-counting of temporary construction acres. The corrected size is 4.917 acres. Using the same recommended per-acre price of $6,700, staff revised the recommended sale price from $53,000 to $33,000 and presented that correction to the committee. Committee members approved the corrected acreage and sale price by roll call.
Both votes were recorded as carried by majority/affirmative roll call and the chair ruled each motion carried. Committee members had no recorded objections during the roll-call votes on these two items.
The committee’s actions are recommendations to the Diversion Authority; final authority action was noted as outside this meeting’s scope.
