Board hears first reading to update building permit plan-review fees

Khan told the board that in reviewing current practices staff found the village was not clearly defining the cost of plan reviews that accompany building permit applications. The proposed change would modify the village fee schedule so the village could recover anticipated costs for these types of plan reviews. Trustee Khan cited the ordinance adopted June 22, 2020 (Ordinance 20-12) that added Chapter 11 to provide a comprehensive fee schedule to the village code.
Because this was a first reading, no vote or formal action was taken at the meeting. Trustee Khan noted the proposal is part of routine annual review of fees by village staff as part of the budget process; no implementation details or effective dates were specified during the presentation.
The item will return for a second reading and vote at a future meeting if the board schedules it.
