Board members also discussed practical next steps: if the district does not receive a qualifying minimum bid it could return to the board to publish a new notice without a minimum or pursue a private sale. The board noted that prospective buyers must complete their own due diligence on zoning and other conditions; staff said zoning and permitted uses would be determined as part of a buyer's purchase process.
During the motion a clerical issue in the resolution's notice was flagged: the parcel identification number (PIN) in the draft resolution contained a typographical repetition. The motion that carried included language that the resolution and the notice of sale be amended to include the appropriate PIN for the parcel prior to publication.
The roll-call vote on the amended resolution was recorded as yes from: Poppold (listed on the roll), Evans, Grados, Jones, Santu, Kyla, and DeVito. The motion carried.
Next steps: staff will publish the notice as required by statute and prepare materials for any responsive bids that meet the advertised minimum; the board will consider any qualifying bids in a future public meeting.
