State renews Richmond County/Town of Warsaw enterprise zone effective Jan. 1; county to promote parcel benefits

Richmond County staff reported that the state renewed the Richmond County–Town of Warsaw enterprise zone effective Jan. 1. County staff thanked the Town of Warsaw for assistance with the renewal application and said the zone will allow eligible businesses to apply enterprise-zone incentives for qualifying projects.
Why it matters: Enterprise zones offer local incentives aimed at encouraging investment and job creation. County staff noted businesses cited in the town’s press release as having benefited from the zone include Dairy Queen, Ace Hardware, Healthy Harvest and the YMCA.
Staff said they plan an informational meeting to discuss how to better promote the program and identify projects outside the town that may still qualify for zone benefits. The packet materials in the board binder included the renewal notice and a town press release highlighting local beneficiaries.
