Commissioners approve routine purchases, extend bid timelines and accept dock bids for review

The board approved a budgeted vehicle purchase for the health department; staff said the truck was part of the regular budget and would not require additional county funding. Commissioners also approved purchases to support recreation fall sports (uniforms and photography) as part of the annual procurement process.
For capital projects, the board opened bids for replacement of the mega-ramp dock. Four bids were discussed in the record: T & M Custom Docks (Anderson, SC) at $79,574.76; Marine Specialties (Gainesville, GA) at approximately $90,700; Boat Doc Works LLC at $125,675; and a second T & M/custom entry at $79,320. The board voted to turn the dock bids over to county administration for review and return with a recommendation.
On a separate item, commissioners moved to extend the bid deadline for tennis and pickleball court lighting by two weeks to allow for additional responses; the motion passed. The board deferred award decisions on the dock and lighting items pending administrative review and additional bidding where applicable.
All routine purchases and procedural bid actions were approved by unanimous voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes.
