The Powhatan County Planning Commission conditionally approved the AutoZone outparcel elevations at the Food Lion site, resolving items deferred from a prior meeting.
Staff summarized outstanding design questions from the December hearing, including canopy and coping colors and storefront/door framing. The applicant revised elevations and materials; staff and the architect explained that the black coping was AutoZone’s standard but said they would accept a change.
Commissioners added a single condition: change the black top coping at the parapet to a white coping to match the EIFS cornice and the applicant agreed. With that change, the commission approved the pattern book element for the AutoZone outparcel. The approval is conditional on the change documented in the meeting record.
