The Michigan House Health Policy Committee on Wednesday voted 15-0 to report House Bill 4032 with a recommendation to the full House.
Committee Chair Vanderwall called for a roll call after Representative Schmaltz moved to report the bill with recommendation. The clerk announced the tally as 15 yays, 0 nays and 0 passes, and the motion prevailed.
The vote came at the start of a meeting that also featured educational presentations on the federal 340B drug-pricing program. Earlier in the session, Representative Debord moved to adopt the committee minutes from the Feb. 19 meeting; that motion passed by unanimous consent. Near the end of the meeting Representative Bonac moved to excuse absent members, which was likewise approved by unanimous consent.
No floor action on House Bill 4032 was recorded during the hearing; the committee’s report forwards the bill and any further debate or votes will occur at later stages in the House.
The committee chair said the meeting would include additional presentations and follow-up on other agenda topics; members indicated they expect further briefings and hearings on health policy matters in coming weeks.
