Committee adjourns debate on H3460; sponsor says Senate vehicle S74 will be advanced

The House Judiciary Committee agreed to adjourn debate on H3460 after Representative Moore told members the AI cybersecurity and special laws subcommittee reported S74 with an amendment and that S74 and H3460 were identical as filed.
Moore said new concerns identified during further review led to an amendment restricting the circumstances in which the attorney general could seek an administrative subpoena, and he asked the committee to focus on S74 to avoid duplicative work. “We believe moving forward with S74 will ensure more efficient legislative process,” Moore said.
Committee members confirmed the subcommittee had met that morning and that S74 still must be scheduled through normal subcommittee and full committee processes. The committee approved the motion to adjourn debate on H3460 by voice vote; the chair announced that the ayes had it and that debate on H3460 was adjourned.
No formal roll-call tally was recorded for the adjournment beyond the committee’s voice vote. Moore said S74 would be placed on a future full committee agenda after the subcommittee process was complete.
