The York County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 5 unanimously approved an audio-visual upgrade for the probate courtroom, awarding the contract to Connectivity Point for $47,948.86. Staff said the system will add video-conferencing, recording capability and improved audio for courtroom hearings.
Carol (court staff) and county staff presented multiple vendor quotes and recommended the mid-range proposal from Connectivity Point. Commissioners discussed scheduling the installation and acknowledged the courtroom may have to be closed for a limited time during the work; staff said installers have been reasonably quick in past projects and that coordination with electricians will be necessary.
Administration said the purchase can be accommodated within Carol's existing budget allocation for high-density storage and related requests; the board approved the purchase without a supplemental appropriation.
The motion to award the Connectivity Point contract passed unanimously. Staff said they will coordinate timing to minimize disruptions to court schedules.
