Valley Stream board approves multiple bond resolutions, closes CDBG public hearing

The Village of Valley Stream Board of Trustees voted to approve a series of resolutions authorizing bond issuances, contract amendments and other routine municipal agreements, and closed a public hearing on continuing Community Development Block Grant spending for three projects.

The actions approved include bond resolutions authorizing serial bonds to finance vehicle fleet additions; replacement of HVAC systems at Village Hall and the Henry Waldegar Memorial Library; street reconstruction; and equipment for apartment facilities. The board also approved licensing and contract agreements, parking permit fees for 2025–26, signage measures, use of village facilities, and other routine items. A public hearing on the continuation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) expenditures covered public facilities improvements, streetscape improvements and a residential rehabilitation program.

Most measures were moved and seconded without extended debate and passed on roll-call votes. Trustees Thomas, Waszak and Daley recorded “yes” votes in the roll calls repeated throughout the meeting; Trustee Tuffarelli was noted as excused.
