Monongalia County Commissioners approved four personnel actions at their Feb. 26, 2025, meeting, hiring maintenance and supervisory staff across parks, facilities and the assessor’s office.
The commission approved hiring Kenneth Barber as a full-time maintenance worker for Camp Muffley at $15 per hour with benefits. The board also approved Kevin Hooten for a full-time maintenance position at Mason Dixon Historical Park at $15 per hour with benefits.
In the facilities department, the commission approved the appointment of Harry Jack Eldred (referred to in the meeting as "Jack") as custodial supervisor, a newly created working-supervisor role with an annual salary of $30,000 and a March 1 start date. Commissioners described the position as intended to coordinate janitorial contracts, perform hands-on supervisory work and improve cleaning across county buildings.
The assessor’s office received approval to hire Levon Weber as a transfer land-book deputy to replace Melissa Perkins; Weber’s start date was set for March 1 as a full-time, benefits-eligible employee with a 90-day probationary period.
All four appointments were approved by voice vote during the meeting; the record shows unanimous support from commissioners present.
