Interim County Administrator Eric Johnson introduced Dansell and summarized his background: former Ferry County commissioner, state senator, USDA manager and local government executive. Commissioners welcomed Dansell and said they were comfortable with his qualifications for the short‑term assignment while the county conducts a permanent recruitment.
Johnson told the board the appointment’s term runs through May 31 and that the board expects to authorize a permanent hire in April or May, depending on recruitment timing and notice periods. Commissioners approved the resolution by voice vote and welcomed Dansell to begin transitional duties and work with department heads on items flagged in administration updates.
Dansell told the board he appreciated the opportunity and said he would seek to continue the county’s work during the transition period. The board asked staff to proceed with the ongoing administrator recruitment managed by the county’s human resources director and outside recruitment firm.
