A second application round runs March 1'March 31; staff said notifications for the second round are due no later than April 18. Magnet school rounds already completed for round 1, with round 2 notifications going out at the time of the meeting.
Controlled open enrollment (countywide, out-of-zone) is open for the month of March and uses a lottery when demand exceeds available seats; controlled open-enrollment notifications were scheduled by April 30. Dr. Wilde said any available seats at Legacy High School (new school) would be offered through the controlled open-enrollment process and that the district will prioritize filling in-zone students first once road access and other capacity determinations are final.
Registration documentation requirements were summarized for parents: birth certificate for age verification, social-security card (if available), custody agreements (if applicable), last school attended and proof of address (zone assignments are address-based). Dr. Wilde said the district plans to hire a principal for the Western Grove K-8 in May 2025 in preparation for the new opening.
