The Farmington Board of Education approved the hiring of Leon Wallace as assistant principal at Farmington High School during the board’s consent agenda on Feb. 25, 2025.
The appointment follows a multi-stage search that screened 63 applicants and narrowed the field through video and in-person rounds involving administration and staff stakeholders, the district said. Board packet materials list the assistant principal recommendation under the consent agenda that the board approved without further discussion.
Leon Wallace introduced himself to the board at the meeting and said, “I would like to just thank you for allowing me this opportunity to serve in your community as assistant principal at Farmington High School. I'm excited to get started.”
Brad Paddock, assistant superintendent for talent development, described the selection process and said Wallace’s interviews consistently emphasized positive adult influence and relationship building for high school students. Principal Christine Meusner and Assistant Principal Linda Shannon participated in screening and interviews, the district reported.
The hire was included in the consent agenda motion (approval of minutes, reports, personnel items and the assistant principal recommendation) and the board voted to approve the consent agenda by voice vote. The agenda item will appear in the formal minutes and personnel files maintained by the district.
