Speakers described Inamasu’s classroom work to foster critical thinking, communication and social-emotional development in kindergarten and early grades, and noted her roles as an instructional leader, mentor and intervention teacher at the school. The council said she is the sole Milken recipient in Hawaii this year and one of the state’s honorees since Hawaii joined the program in 1990.
The council read a resolution recognizing Inamasu’s achievements in education and extended congratulations on behalf of the City and County of Honolulu.
