The Natural Resources and Environmental Commission selected new officers and approved minutes at its Feb. 25 meeting.
Commissioners nominated and voted to elect Commissioner Haines as chair and Commissioner Siegel as vice chair for 2025. The motion to appoint Commissioner Haines as chair and Commissioner Siegel as vice chair passed by roll call; those elected will begin their terms at the next regular meeting.
The commission also considered and approved the minutes from the Jan. 28, 2025 regular meeting. Earlier in the minutes discussion a commissioner suggested abstentions were acceptable if members who attended the referenced meeting were no longer on the commission; the roll-call vote to approve ultimately recorded a majority in favor.
