Commission approves Johnson Estates final plat for 12‑lot single‑family subdivision

The Onalaska Planning Commission voted unanimously on Feb. 25 to approve the Johnson Estates fourth edition final plat, a 12‑lot single‑family subdivision at 524 Elhauser Road (Tax Parcel 18-2099-0).
Planner Katie Aspenson said the final plat follows an approved planned unit development and preliminary plat. The subdivision will extend Johnson Place and include sanitary sewer, water and storm sewer extensions. Aspenson told the commission the developer anticipates beginning construction in spring 2025 with completion of the entire development in 2026 and estimated the subdivision’s value at approximately $5,400,000. City staff compiled 24 conditions of approval to be satisfied before final acceptance.
Tom Smith moved to approve the final plat with the 24 conditions; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The decision allows the applicant to proceed to final administrative approvals and construction permitting, subject to meeting the listed conditions and any additional department reviews required before infrastructure acceptance and occupancy.
