Votes at a glance: Senate Education Committee reports three bills out of committee without objection

The Alaska Senate Education Committee reported three bills from committee on Wednesday, Feb. 26, taking procedural action to send each measure forward with individual recommendations and attached fiscal notes.

Senate Bill 23, “civics education,” also was moved by President Stevens and similarly reported from the committee without objection.

Each motion recorded that no amendments had been submitted to the committee office. The committee asked members and those present to remain after the meeting to sign the committee reports. No roll‑call votes or recorded tallies were taken; committee action was announced as approved “without objection,” which the committee clerk recorded as the formal report from committee.

Ending: Committee business concluded and the chair adjourned the meeting at 4:49 p.m.; the committee scheduled its next session on March 3 to continue consideration of the governor’s omnibus education package.
