The City Council voted to confirm reappointments and new members on several boards and committees.
On the Committee for Persons with Disabilities, council approved reappointments of Michelle Jones and Sandra Flores and new appointments of Crystal Aguilar, Alejandro Benavides, Oscar Camacho and Wilson Goodrich. The council also approved the Downtown Management District board’s recommended appointment of Michael Islava for the agent/employee/tenant seat (per the Texas local government code process by DMD recommendation).
The Senior Corps Advisory Committee reappointed Kathleen Jocelyn to the SEP volunteer seat and appointed Santos Huerta to the RSVP volunteer station position. The council appointed Angelita Romero and (last name reported as) Avalos and Robert Voorhees (recorded also as Voorheis/Voorheide in roll call) to the Sister City Committee to fill two vacancies.
All appointments considered during the consent and board-appointment portion were approved by voice vote; the record reports motions, seconds and the council announcing the motion carried. The council did not record roll-call tallies in the meeting transcript for these voice votes.
