Lane County schedules March 11 public hearing for Land Management building fee changes

Gary Miller, Land Management Division manager, told the board the fee changes are subject to a public‑hearing process under state law and required 45 days’ notice. “Notice has been provided to the public 45 days in advance of the hearing and I’ll be prepared with a full staff report that day to answer any questions,” Miller said. The board’s action on Feb. 25 set the second reading and public hearing; Miller and staff will bring a full report at the March 11 hearing.
Board procedure: The chair reminded members that substantive staff questions and discussion would be reserved for the March 11 second reading so that members of the public with an interest in the matter would have the benefit of hearing those discussions during the public record.
Vote and motion: The board approved the motion to set the second reading and public hearing by a voice vote, 5-0. The motion was made by the vice chair and seconded by Commissioner Buck; the board clerk read the time‑certain language into the record, and the chair called the vote.
Next steps: Staff will prepare the full staff report and be available at the March 11 hearing to answer questions. Any further staff clarifications and commissioner discussion will occur at the time‑certain hearing.
