Vero Beach Utilities Commission elects chair, approves bimonthly meeting schedule

The Vero Beach Utilities Commission elected Jane Burton as chair and Peter Dole as vice chair, approved its 2024 annual report and voted to hold regular meetings every other month, the commission said during its most recent session.

The actions came after commissioners and members of the public debated how often the panel should meet to ensure a quorum and to provide consistent oversight of essential water services. Sherry, a city staff member who presented a meeting-frequency memo, told the commission that “according to the code, you're just required to meet at least quarterly.”
