The Vero Beach Code Enforcement Board found the property at 1933 20 Third Avenue in compliance after the owner obtained permits and closed the permit that restored the garage to its permitted use.
Staff reported the history: a garage had been converted into a dwelling unit without permits. The planning director and building department records were reviewed; the planning director had explained the process for a zoning verification letter and the owner later obtained documentation. "The property has been brought into compliance. The building permit was obtained to make it back into a garage," staff said.
On that basis the board moved to find the property in compliance as of Jan. 16, 2025; to cease continuing penalties as of Jan. 15, 2025; and to require payment of accrued penalties and costs. The motion carried on an affirmative vote.
