Public commenter alleges district using referendum dollars for office move, cites $2.3 million relocation request

McIntosh asserted that prior situation reports and discussions dating from February–April 2024 had included a recommendation to move the district office into the Empower (Power) Academy space on the ninth-grade campus, and that on April 8, 2024, that recommendation no longer appeared in a situation report presented to the board. He told the board he believed nearly $2,000,000 left over from the ninth-grade campus referendum had been used for construction of the pool and that the district had not explained why the earlier district-office recommendation was removed.
McIntosh said the current capital-improvement report proposes an additional $2.3 million in taxpayer dollars for a district-office move that, in his view, “should have already taken place,” and he asked for clarity on the funding source and the board’s decision-making. The district did not respond during the public comment period with a detailed accounting; the matter was later discussed in the staff CIP presentation and is scheduled for further board review.
