Public works reports wastewater-plant upgrades, multiple street projects and WSDOT funding delay for SR 531

Jim Kelly, utilities and transportation staff, delivered the utilities and transportation quarterly update to the council and provided progress reports on several major utility- and road-related projects.
Kelly said crews completed an air-header modification at the MBR wastewater facility and that the SCADA upgrades for the wastewater and water-treatment plants are being implemented in parallel with old systems while contractors debug communications. He reported the MBR blower installation contractor has been awarded and will begin construction, and that MBR-programming upgrades are scheduled for a six-week debugging period.
