The Revere Zoning Board of Appeals granted variances allowing the owner under agreement for 30 Floyd Street to subdivide the lot into two parcels and construct a new single‑family home on the newly created lot.
Attorney Robert Peterson Jr. represented Madison Real Estate Group LLC and described the proposal to split a 6,993‑square‑foot parcel in the RB district into Lot A (3,748 sq ft) preserving an existing two‑family dwelling, and Lot B (3,243 sq ft) for a new single‑family home. Peterson said strict compliance with the 8,000‑square‑foot minimum in the RB district would be unduly burdensome and that many surrounding parcels are similarly nonconforming.
Supporters testified at the public hearing. Dan DiVincarelli of 56 Atwood Street said he is "in full support" of the project and vouched for the applicant's quality of work. David DeAngelis of 48 Furnace Street said he is "in favor of Kevin" and that the applicant "does everything the right way." Ward 5 Councillor Angela Garrino Soia also spoke in favor, saying she did not think the subdivision "would cause any harm to the neighborhood." The board approved the variance subject to standard recording and site‑plan conditions and recorded five yes votes from members present.
