Stow City will install two grant-funded universal changing stations at park and amphitheater sites

City staff told the Commission on Inclusion on Feb. 25 that Summit DD grant funding will cover two universal changing stations for Stow City facilities.
Drew, a city staff member who worked on the request, said one unit will be installed in a restroom at Skip Playground and a second is being included in design plans for the new city amphitheater restroom so it can be built to specification rather than retrofitted. Drew said the station installations were fully funded by the grant and that the devices are recorded in a public database so families can locate accessible changing stations when traveling.
Commissioners welcomed the additions and said making fixed facilities available reduces barriers that keep some residents from using public spaces. City staff and the mayor were described as supportive of increasing accessible infrastructure; no formal vote was taken.
