St. Pete Beach Board of Adjustment continues two cases to March 26, approves minutes and adjourns

The St. Pete Beach Board of Adjustment at its February meeting voted to continue two agenda items — case number 24104 (a shed variance) and the progress report for case number 23072 (2007 Passover Way) — to March 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. in chambers.
Senior planner Kristen Komen told the board both applicants requested continuances. “So today we have 2 applications that were on our agenda. Both have asked for a continuance. The first 1 being our previous, case number 24104, for the sheds,” Komen said, adding the applicants wanted more time to explore alternatives and to consult with southern neighbors.
Komen said staff asked applicants to submit any changes or additional materials by March 13 so staff could conduct a site visit and, if necessary, amend the staff report. She also noted that an individual involved in the shed case, Jay McCrory, was out of town and unavailable for the meeting.
Komen described the second continuance as a rescheduling of a required progress report for 2007 Passover Way, case number 23072. She said a clerical error in the scheduling email led to confusion about the requested appearance date and the applicant has been rescheduled and confirmed for the March 26 meeting.
After a motion to amend the agenda to continue both items was made and seconded, the board recorded a roll-call vote: Member Kore, Member Garchow, Member Small, Member Causey and Chair Chase all voted yes and the motion carried. With no members of the public present to speak during the audience-comment portion, the board then approved the minutes from January and moved to adjourn.
The board was briefed that the March agenda will include two new applications (a hardship variance and a practical difficulty variance), the rescheduled progress report, and the continued shed variance, creating a fuller docket for next month.
No formal changes to city code, ordinances, or other legal authorities were made at the meeting; the actions recorded were continuances and routine procedural approvals.
