The Murrieta City Planning Commission elected Dennis Rubin its new chair and agreed to defer selection of a vice chair to the next meeting, both by unanimous votes.
Tom Beamish nominated Dennis Rubin for chair; Michael DeSenna seconded the nomination and moved to close nominations and elect by acclamation. The roll-call vote was unanimous among the three commissioners present and the motion carried.
After the chair election, staff recommended postponing the vice chair selection until the next meeting. The commission moved and approved continuing the vice chair election, again in a unanimous 3–0 vote.
Dennis Rubin indicated acceptance of the nomination during the meeting.
No additional formal assignments for the new chair were recorded at the meeting; staff noted the annual election for presiding officers normally occurs in February and that the commission may amend procedures as needed.
