At its Feb. 24 meeting the Taylor ISD Board of Trustees recorded unanimous votes on multiple routine and new business items.
Key votes and outcomes (all motions passed 7–0 unless noted):
- Consent agenda: approved as presented (minutes, tax report, monthly financial report, purchasing approvals, budget amendments, approval of list of broker-dealers, approval of audit engagement letter with Singleton Clark & Company, PC for the 2024–25 financial audit, board resolution for investment policy/strategy, joint election agreement and election services contract, selection of real estate broker and CBRE Inc. agreement related to land acquisition under the 2022 bond). Motion carried 7–0.
- 2025–26 academic calendar (District and Legacy Early College): trustees approved Calendar B as presented. Motion carried 7–0.
- Targeted improvement plan strategy (Effective Schools Framework/TIL-related plan): board approved the district strategy. Motion carried 7–0.
- Early-decision teacher incentive: approved; $1,000 for applicants with five or fewer years’ experience and $1,500 for applicants with six or more years’ experience; to be paid in first payroll check and funded from Title II funds. Motion carried 7–0.
- Secondary math signing bonus: approved an additional $2,000 signing bonus for applicants fully certified in secondary math (grades 6–12); funded with federal funds. Motion carried 7–0.
The votes closed the district’s consent items and enacted several recruiting and instructional strategies; board minutes record motions and voice votes with the 7–0 tallies.
