Warrick County board approves affiliation agreement with Indiana Wesleyan University

The Warrick County School Corporation board voted Feb. 24 to approve an affiliation agreement with Indiana Wesleyan University to provide clinical learning experiences for students in the university’s School of Health Sciences programs.
Doctor Doug Gresham, director of human resources, told the board the agreement outlines mutual responsibilities to ensure high-quality clinical placements for occupational therapy, physical therapy and related trainees. He said the agreement "shall remain in effect unless canceled by either party" and that the corporation’s attorney, Cliff Whitehead, had reviewed the document.
The motion to approve the affiliation agreement was moved by Missus Wilhelm and seconded by Mister Mosby; the board approved it on a roll call vote with ayes recorded from Miss Glover, Mister Franz, Mister Skinner, Mister Baker, Mister Mosby, Miss Wilhelmus and another member who said, "I vote aye."
Why it matters: Affiliation agreements allow local schools to host clinical trainees from higher-education programs. The placements can support district staffing capacity and provide hands-on experience for future health professionals.
The agreement will remain in effect until either party cancels it; no further conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
