Council approves two separation agreements after executive session
Summary

After returning from an executive session on Feb. 24, 2025, the Snoqualmie City Council approved two separation agreements related to former city staff.
The council first voted to approve a separation agreement described in open session as "separation agreement 1, dated this council meeting of 02/24/2025, separating a prior member of staff from the city." The motion was moved and seconded in open session; the council recorded a unanimous vote in favor.
Council later moved to amend the agenda to add another separation agreement and then approved a second separation agreement dated Feb. 20, 2025. The second motion was moved by Councilor Johnson and seconded by Councilor Washington and likewise passed unanimously.
City staff stated that the matters were discussed in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (litigation and personnel exceptions) and that details discussed in executive session were not released in open session. City officials present for the executive sessions included the city attorney, the city administrator and HR staff; the council noted no further action was required that evening beyond the two approved agreements.
Both motions passed by unanimous vote of members present; Councilor Christensen was excused.
