The board agreed to form a small working group of trustees, the superintendent and staff (including the chief academic officer) to draft clearer policy language and to examine interventions that would require documented teacher-parent-student communication before altering end-of-term zeros. The administration offered to bring sample language from peer districts and to consult principals and teachers before returning recommended edits at a subsequent meeting.
No vote was taken on the policy at first reading; the item was moved to the next agenda cycle for additional drafting and review.
