Staff told council members the listed units had been "deadlined," had equipment removed and would no longer be used in police service. The presenter said in prior years the city might have retained one or two such vehicles, but in this case staff believed none should be kept.
Council members were directed to review the surplus list included at the back of the meeting packet and to contact Ashley or the presenter with any questions before the next formal meeting. No formal council action or vote to declare surplus was recorded during the Jan. 13 work session; staff presented the list for review and to solicit council questions.
Council members also noted that additional non-vehicle items were included on the list and that staff could provide specific year and equipment details on request.
