Board adopts two policy updates, approves consent agenda; multiple votes recorded

The Natrona County School District #1 Board of Trustees on an evening meeting approved a five-item consent agenda and adopted two revised board policies after committee review.

The board voted to accept the consent agenda — covering executive-session and general-session minutes, personnel reports, district bills for February 2025 and six bids including bus financing and maintenance projects — with one abstention, recorded by the chair as an 8–1 tally.

The board then took up two policies on second reading. Trustee Stadelli moved to adopt board policy 6,280, a rewritten policy intended to bring the district into compliance with federal law; the motion passed unanimously. Stadelli also moved to adopt board policy 6402 (release time and credit for religious education), a consolidated policy combining earlier policies 6110 and 6402; the board approved that motion 7–2.

The policy committee report earlier in the meeting covered how the proposed language aligns with federal requirements and highlighted the edits to policy 6402 (changes shown in red and yellow in the packet). Chair Kristofferson called the roll for both policy votes after motions, and the board recorded the outcomes as described.

No amendments to either policy were recorded in the meeting. The board did not announce which trustees voted for or against the 7–2 result for policy 6402, and the single abstention on the consent agenda was not named in the public roll call.

Trustees briefly discussed prior committee work and the policies’ administrative attachments but gave no further direction on implementation steps during the public session.
