Council accepts Planning Commission resignation; city seeks applicants and welcomes new planner in March

East Bethel city staff informed the council on Feb. 24 that a Planning Commission resignation was accepted as an added consent agenda item, creating two vacancies on the commission.
City Administrator Matt asked the council to encourage interested residents to apply so the planning commission can interview candidates and forward recommendations to council. Staff said the next planning commission meeting will be busy, with four or five cases expected to come before the commission, and that a new planner named Grace is scheduled to start in early March to assist with workload and training.
The council approved acceptance of the resignation as part of the consent agenda and directed staff to move promptly to fill the vacancies so the planning commission can operate at full membership.
