Madison speakers urge district to oppose WIAA ban on trans female athletes

Another speaker described the broader political context and urged the board to make a firm statement that MMSD will continue to support trans students in school sports.
Board members did not take immediate formal action on the WIAA policy during the meeting. Speakers asked district leaders to publicly affirm noncompliance with the WIAA ruling and to clarify how district sports programs will treat transgender athletes going forward.
