Superintendent James Larson introduced the presentation and noted that MDE and Wayne RESA staff visited Hamtramck High School and Holbrook to evaluate the district’s commitment to inclusive education. Dr. Cox told the board the review included interviews and that the agencies found the district in compliance; the transcript records that the corrective action plans were closed.
Board members and administrators praised the special services team. One speaker specifically acknowledged leadership by "Doctor Cobb and the Special Services Department" for helping improve programming and ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate services in their least restrictive environment.
