Lance LaRue from 4 Rivers explained that the John Deere residual value is typically predetermined by the lease and is often not negotiable; he said the county could continue leasing but would likely not save money. Commissioners directed procurement staff to obtain quotes for similar units and to return if the seller would not lower the buyout amount.
The motion approved purchase pending procurement issues being resolved; commissioners recorded a roll-call vote in favor.
