Planning commission elects officers, adopts bylaws and affirms meeting schedule for 2025

At the commission’s annual organizational meeting, members re‑elected officers, adopted meeting dates and approved amended bylaws and roles and responsibilities for 2025.
Commission members nominated and voted to affirm Tim Stowe as chairman; Roger Thomas was then affirmed as vice chairman. The commission also elected Wyatt Pearson as secretary. The roll calls for each officer’s affirmation were conducted and recorded in the meeting minutes.
Planning staff presented two targeted bylaws revisions: clarifying that tabling authority may extend up to 90 calendar days (a change from a prior 45‑day reference) and updating the work session section so work sessions can be scheduled by both the chairman and secretary rather than being restricted to occurring after adjournment of regular meetings. Staff described these as minor edits to align the bylaws with current commission practice.
A motion to adopt the bylaws and roles and responsibilities as amended passed on roll call. The commission also confirmed its 2025 meeting schedule: first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the Frederick County Administration Building.
The commission then adopted meeting minutes from several 2024 meetings and conducted committee updates. Frederick Water and other committee representatives provided updates separately during the meeting.
