County supports amendment excluding Fairfax solid-waste facilities from PFAS bill after patron's substitute

County attorneys told the Legislative Committee on Jan. 31 that a PFAS-related bill was amended with a substitute that resolves a Fairfax County concern by excluding county solid-waste facilities from the bill's coverage.
Kristen (County Attorney's Office) explained the patron adopted the county's requested amendment to exclude Fairfax County solid-waste facilities, which had been unintentionally swept into the original draft. "Because it resolves the concern, and Fairfax Water has also asked for our express... support, staff recommends supporting," she said.
Ending: Committee staff recommended changing the county position to support the substitute bill and to continue monitoring related PFAS legislation.
