King George County supervisors elect 2025 chair, vice chair and clerk

At its Jan. 7 meeting the King George County Board of Supervisors elected Supervisor Davis as chair, Supervisor Sullins as vice chair and appointed Mister Smolnick as clerk; votes were unanimous.
Supervisor Davis was elected chair of the King George County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 7, 2025, and Supervisor Sullins was elected vice chair. The board also appointed Mister Smolnick as clerk of the board in the same meeting.
The leadership votes were part of the board’s organizational session at the Robert H. Combs Boardroom. Electing officers sets the board’s formal leadership roles for 2025 and authorizes the chair and vice chair to carry out agenda and meeting duties for the year.
The nomination to elect Davis as chair was made publicly on the record and accepted by Davis, who said, "I do," when asked if he would accept the nomination. The board closed nominations and approved the election by roll-call vote: Supervisor Kathy Bender, Supervisor T.C. Collins, Supervisor Davis, Supervisor Stroud and Supervisor Sullins all voted aye.
Following the chair election, the board nominated and elected Supervisor Sullins as vice chair. The board then moved to appoint Mister Smolnick as clerk of the board; that motion also passed by unanimous voice vote. Each motion was seconded and approved under the board’s standard roll-call procedures.
The newly elected leadership will preside over regular board business and any organizational follow-ups scheduled in January.
