Planning department reports December permit activity, Cottes Creek reservoir photos and ongoing solar construction

For December the building-inspections report showed 32 permits issued, total fees collected of $3,247.28, and a total estimated project value of $394,292.23. Year-to-date figures included 922 permits issued, $187,948.16 in fees, and a total estimated project value of $44,311,641.65; staff reported 84 certificates of occupancy issued in the year.
Staff shared updated aerial photos of Cottes Creek Reservoir, noting the reservoir’s expansion and that water elevation is at 305 (units not specified in the packet). Staff said the Department of Conservation and Resources (DCR) planned to stock fish now that oxygen levels improved and pointed to visible features such as the boat ramp, dam and access roads in the photos.
On the solar projects, staff said construction is ongoing at the Cumberland Road sites (Dunn and Rowlett), and work had slowed over the holidays and due to weather but was expected to resume soon. The presentation included site photos and a description of entrance locations and parking areas.
