The agreement funds emergency-shelter operations in the coming year and, according to Assistant City Manager Brandon O'Guire, is supported by a combination of special alcohol tax revenue, a recently voter-approved affordable housing and homeless solutions sales tax, and general fund dollars. "The contract before you is the next year's contract, approximately about $3.03 and a half million dollars," O'Guire said during the meeting, and he added this is the first year the city will fund the agreement without COVID-relief federal dollars.
